After several weeks of rumors and leaks of all kinds, the famous modern warfare battle royale, Warzone, has finally been made official by Activision. An announcement made yesterday, March 9, 2020 through a first trailer that allows you to learn more about the future of Call of Duty’s multiplayer, which will available today. Here is everything you need to know about Warzone.
The 2 epic modes of Warzone
Battle Royale
Each match will consist of 150 players divided into teams of three. The players will jump out of a plane and land somewhere on the huge map of Verdansk, armed only with a handgun. Once on the ground, the teams will have to start looking for weapons and loadout.
The map has more than 300 points of interest, several vehicles, and a circle that shrinks as the game progresses, but the shrinking “circle” will be in the form of a deadly gas invading the map. The last surviving squad is the winner.
Plunder
Plunder is a second mode included in Warzone. Unlike Battle Royale, Plunder is a race for money. Teams will have to work together to find the most money possible. You will have to be the first team to secure the sum of $1 Million Cash. To do this, you will, of course, have to eliminate your opponents, open crates all over the map, loot items, steal money from your enemies and/or complete in-game contracts.
Note that there are Buy Stations in Plunder, in which you can deposit some of your cash to avoid losing everything when your team is killed. In addition, the buy stations will have additional items to purchase that will help secure some funds as the game progresses.Note also that Warzone has specific mechanics, which Infinity Ward details, along with the list of vehicles, some of these mechanics are only available in the BR and some are available in both modes.

THE MECHANICS
The Gulag (available in Battle Royale): The most interesting aspect of modern warfare battle royale is the 1v1 respawn mechanism called Gulag, where you are made “prisoner of Warzone” after your first knockout. In order to respawn, you must face another player who has also fallen in battle in an arena in a 1v1 duel. If he wins, he may return to combat. On the other hand, a defeat in this duel will condemn the player to hope that his teammates recover enough money to give him a second chance.
Buy Stations (available in both modes): In modern warfare battle royale, these stations allow you to spend money to obtain various bonuses, Killstreaks, Self-Revive Kits, or tokens to bring back fallen teammates.
Contracts (available in both modes): Each team can activate a contract during the game, and earn cash as well as loot. Several types of objectives exist, including Scavenger or Recon missions. Some rewards are special, and, as an example, we are told about the reward that allows us to see how far the circle will go at the next shrinking.
THE VEHICLES
- ATV: two-seater, very fast, offers minimal protection, good off-road.
- Tactical Rover: four-seater, offers minimal protection, fast, tough off-road.

- Cargo/Transport Truck: can carry crew and equipment, has excellent protection, but is not suitable for off-roading, and is the slowest vehicle.

The importance of money in Warzone
Money is highly important in Warzone. Players will be able to spend their money at the Buy Stations. These are identified by a shopping cart icon and can be found all over the map. Money can be spent to buy respawn tokens allowing their dead teammates to return to the game, Self-Revive Kits and killstreaks, which are special actions giving players a temporary upgrade or tactical weapon to eliminate multiple enemies.
Warzone map
The huge map of Warzone takes place in Verdansk and features over 300 points of interest, including entire areas known to veteran players, such as Gorengard Lumber Yard and Gora Dam.
Ping system
Warzone will use a ping system, partly similar to Apex Legends to allow players to target map elements. This system is extremely useful, especially when playing with teammates who do not have a microphone.
Cross-Play and Cross-Progression
Warzone supports cross-platform gaming and cross-progression with Modern Warfare, allowing you to form a team of three players on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
In addition to being free-to-play, modern warfare battle royale will also be cross-play. This means that PS4, Xbox One, and PC owners will be able to compete against each other without any distinction.
Warzone is free and you can download it even if you don’t already own Modern Warfare. However, if you have the latest Call of Duty game, your Battle Pass items, cosmetic content, operators and progress will be transferred to Warzone. The reverse is also possible: if you download Warzone and decide to resume Modern Warfare later, your progress will also be transferred.
